Guitarist and lead vocalist of rock band Green day Billie Joe Armstrong has passed away at 50 years old. It was revealed on the bands Twitter "it comes to great sadness that we announce that our friend and front man has died we do not know why he passed all we know is that he was found dead in his hotel room. Please give his family the privacy they need." Many bands have made statements on his passing Greg graffin said " it hurts to find out about my friends passing rip." Fat Mike commented " so sorry to hear about the death of a legend may he rest in peace." Tim Armstrong said " absolutely heart broken to hear of billies death totally unexpected and sad condolences to Armstrong's family and friends." Tom delonge said " so sorry to hear about billies death didn't think I'd start the day hearing this absolutely sad and heartbreaking to hear." Bands like blink 182, NOFX, bad religion, and jimmy eat world payed tribute to the late musician. It was also anounced that green day will not play anymore because of billies death green day said " after the tragic death we will have to quit as noone could fill in for him he was the heart of green day he was the best rip Billie joe.
