Today, an Adams County Court judge sentenced Sinaloa Cartel leader, multiple time prison escapee and drug lord El Chapo Guzmán, real name Joaquín Archivaldo Guzmán Loera, to death in a new retrial that lasted 2.5 hours. The sentence was said to be carried out within 44 days, meaning it will happen on July 24, 2022, according to the judge and state officials. Now, Guzmán resides in level 5 maximum security penitentiary ADX Florence, and is said to have been there since July 17, 2019. However, he now spends the rest of his days awaiting his sentence on death row.
