Ending hours of speculation, President Donald Trump announced that he had selected Sheriff Buford T. Justice to fill the Supreme Court vacancy left by retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy. "Sheriff Justice has the law enforcement background to bring law and order back to this country," Trump tweeted late Wednesday evening. If confirmed, Justice would become the second Supreme Court justice from Texas. The only other Texan on the high court was Justice Tom C. Clark, who served from 1949 to 1967.
