Local man from Newark opens fire on former Newark police officer. Retired officer James Wood III. Was at a pizza store on Clinton Avenue where he says he seen suspect looking to be carrying a loaded 50. Cal handgun. Woods then states he slowly followed the suspect out of the pizza store and down the block of Augusta st and Clinton Ave where woods tried to get closer caught open fire direct to the leg and one to the arm.
No future news has been released on the suspect and retired officer James Wood is okay and working with NPD to help find this armed and dangerous shooter
