New rules to be implemented on October 13, 2017 could have a major impact for Offenders currently under the department's supervision. Idaho is poised to be the first state to enact such drastic changes as to how the supervision of Probationers and Parolees will be handled from here on out. Department Spokesperson I.C. Wieners released a statement earlier today. "After much deliberation and planning for Our goals in the future, and as a way of not reliving the problems of the past, the Idaho Department of Corrections will "Officially Gold Seal" ALL Offenders currently under the departments supervision. All person(s) who have been convicted of ANY crimes will have their Criminal Records expunged immediately upon implementation of this new law. The Department arrived at this conclusion as the ONLY solution to the problems facing the Department in regards to the over bearing stress being placed upon Our Officers due to the massive influx of prisoners that are being released into society all at once. We are using this opportunity as a sort of Reboot; basically this allows Us to start a-knew and therefore avoid the mistakes that have been made in the past."
