Lowell High School Student Rejects Full Ride To Juilliard

Evan Caverly, Lowell High School senior, president and Student Director of Lowell High School Sound Impressions Show Choir rejected a full ride scholarship to Juiiliard last week. Stunned by his reaction, the school for talented and gifted performers responded with "We rarely give full ride scholarship. We have never been turned down before. This is a unfortunate disappointment."
Justin McKinney, the director of Music Studies at Juillard had this comment, "We see great talent in Evan and we a severely disappointed that he chose to not accept our offer, but we wish Mr Caverly success in all of his endeavors."

Juilliard has only offered full ride scholarships on three occasions, and Mr. Caverly's was the third such offer since the school's inception. In 1974. No one has ever refused a scholarship to Juiiliard. When. Asked about his decision , Mr Caverly replied, "They just don't have the program I want."
