A rising star from Galena Park HS has become the big talk among college soccer in the state of Louisiana and Texas, suffering a terrible injury which cost him the season for his sophomore year at Lon Morris College . He has broken many records as a freshman in the 2007 season being the youngest to score 36 goals and taking the team to a national championship which they lost in over time to the number one team in the nation. Omar was expected to start in the PDL League with the Fresno fuego in California this summer and was chosen out of 200 players to represent the State of Texas in the college all star games in Hawaii .He was also a nominee for the rookie of the year award ,Winning Best Offensive player, leading scorer , and also high in academics with a 3.6 GPA . There is a lot of talk many D1 college recruits and have been in contact with him and recently told that the Colorado Rapids are interested even after his injury but is yet to be decided on what his decision are for the future. We are looking forward to hear from this young star and wish him the best for his 2010 season. GO OMAR!!
