Riddell Announces Recall on SpeedFlex Helmets

Riddell announces that they are reacalling their highest selling football helmet. They announced this yesterday claiming that there was about 67 of their products not equipped with the standard polycarbonate that normal helmets have. This means that the polycarbonate used for most of the helmets don’t provide enough protection that is required to meet standards, thus making the chances for concussions and other head trauma more likely and possibly more severe. When asked, the CEO of Riddell, Dan Arment, stated, “We are very sorry for the mistake, and we will be giving a choice to customers that bought our SpeedFlexes to either get a new SpeedFlex that meets the standard or a full refund, and either way, we will be giving 50 off for those who purchased these helmets. If anyone has got a question, they can go to our website and get customer support. We are deeply sorry for anything this mistake could’ve caused and our company will work harder to make sure that our products will always be safe to use.”
