North Houston Residents On Edge After Viscious Attacks

Houston, TX- Residents of the Independence Heights Neighborhood in north Houston are on edge. A gang consisting of 4-6 individuals have been brutally assualting, robbing and in some cases raping innocent pedestrians. Attacks have been reported at McCullough Park, Robert's St. And the intersection of Crosstimbers and Airline. Attacks are occurring at night. Victims and witnesses have described the men as being African-American. A victim that chooses not to be identified regained consciousness bent over a park bench at Mccollough Park with his personal belongings gone and his shorts around his ankles. He had been knocked out and further medical test revealed he had been visiously sodomized. The victim said, "The last thing I remember is 2 people running at me." Victim Sidney Huffman was assaulted in the early morning hours of June 14th leaving the Valero at the intersection of Crosstimbers and Airline. Sidney had a similar encounter with his attackers all though he was able to shake them off before penetration. "I woke up as I was being mounted."There have been 8 such reports of similar instances in the Independsnce Heights neighborhood since May 1st 2019.
