After years of Microsoft having bought out Minecraft, Microsoft felt that the game was too much for them and tried re-selling the game to another developing company.

Markus Persson, also known as "Notch", took advantage of this and bought the game back for himself on April 21st, 2019. He bought the game back for $1.5 billion, even though Microsoft bought it from him for $3.5 billion. This means Persson made $2 billion from this tradeoff.

Persson said recently on Twitter, "...and about me re-buying Minecraft, all the money I gained will go towards the development of the game and making sure the game turns out how fans want it to."

This is very exciting news for Minecraft fans who turned away when Microsoft held ownership of the game, and Persson hopes that more players will return to Minecraft now that he is in control of the game's future.
