The world wide popular cookie, Oreo, has been a family favourite for several years. Due to the expensive ingredients to create this cookie, Oreos might sadly come to an end. Food scientist and the creator of Oreos, Sam J Porcello, sadly died in 2012 and passed down the business to his son Micheal Porcello. Micheal has said that by the year 2022 the Oreo factories will be shut down and no more Oreos will be made. He also added that a new cookie similar to Oreos my be in stores in America by 2024. The new cookie will be cheaper to make and taste like the original Oreo. Sorry to all the vegan Oreo lovers because this new cookie will contain egg, but still no dairy. It will taste more like the Oreo thins, than a regular Oreo. It may also have a slightly different taste. The exact date of the day Oreos will stop being made isn't confirmed but it will most likely be mid July 2022 and the new cookies will come into the shops mid September 2024 in America and in other countries it will come out in early march 2025. Micheal announced that he may retire a few years after the new Oreos are made and will pass the business down to his daughter, Lilly Porcello, who he will let decide on the new name for the new cookies. Lilly hasn't accepted this oportunnity as she is studding radiology and wishes to pursue a career in that industry. Another possibility is that the business will be pass down to his niece, Fiona Porcello, who would proudly accept to be the new owner.
