President Trump enjoyed the highest support from the black American community of a Republican candidate for President since Richard Nixon. In an effort to increase this support for the 2020 election, Ray Lewis, formerly of the Baltimore Ravens where he starred as an All Pro Linebacker, will now work out of the White House and focus on outreach to the black community. According to White House Communication Director Sarah Huckabee Sanders, "Ray Lewis was a force on the football field and won every honor in his profession. He is a known winner and will bring those winning ways to his role in ensuring that President Trump's message of economic empowerment reaches the black American community. The President wants every American to prosper regardless of skin color, religion or ethnic background." Ray Lewis also issued a statement to the press in which he thanked President Trump and promised to prove that "support for Republican candidates and policies does not make one an 'Uncle Tom.' Black people need to throw off the yoke of the Democratic Party which was the foundation of those seeking to oppress black Americans." Mr. Lewis will work closely with another White House black American appointee, Omarosé Onée Manigault-Newman, who is serving as director of communications for the Office of Public Liaison. Ms. Manigault-Newman was also part of the Trump focused reality show, The Apprentice, in 1994. She has been a close advisor to President Trump since then.
