Scientists at the Arecibo Large Array Observatory in Puerto Rico have revealed that a near earth object the size of the island country of Sri Lanka is on a collision course with Earth and will likely strike the Pacific Ocean in January of 2019. It is considered an extinction level event. World governments have apparently known about the object and have intentionally kept the event out of the public domain for up to five years. Following the impact of Hurricane Maria, several members of the NEO team in Puerto Rico revealed that the object is on a direct path and is too large and moving too fast to attempt to divert its trajectory, traveling at over 800 miles per second. It is expected that President Donald Trump and other world leaders will make a formal announcement within the next few weeks. The odds of any living creature surviving the impact is less than .000005.
