On October 20th, McNeil High School band director, Mike Champagne, allegedly had sexual interactions with a 14 year-old student. The student was joking around when Champagne ordered him to go sit in his office to, quote, "have a little chat". After closing the door, Champagne then told the boy he was only allowed to change in his office and that he likes his character because he "gets away with stuff". Champagne was caught when the student left the office crying. Another student asked him what has happened and later reported it to a school principal.
