Oak Grove High School is facing fierce backlash from the Lamar County School District after its failed attempt at a new school schedule featuring a so called "Power Hour". Head Principal Helen Price fought hard to get the new schedule approved by the school board, and surprisingly succeeded. The school board withdrew its acceptance after a failed first week, but Helen Price refused to change the A rated high school back to its original schedule. Thus pushing the school board to cut funding to the public school. Unless the school can find funding elsewhere, there will no longer be an Oak Grove High School after the 2017-2018 fiscal year.
