October 11, 2017 - The percentage of convicted felons in the Commonwealth of Kentucky exceeds any other state's percentage by a landslide. There is one convicted felon to every 4 people as a whole in The Bluegrass that's 25 of our population that is property of the Commonwealth. But Governor Matt Bevin has lowering that percentage at the top of his "To-Do" List starting with a mass pardon taking effect Monday October 16th, 2017. If an individual was convicted of drug related and/or non violent crimes between the years 2013 and the present (Up til July 2017) they will be freed from the Commonwealth of Kentucky Department of Corrections. This pardon includes All Class C/Class D felony convictions only whether were sentenced to probation, parole, or currently incarcerated. Those on Parole/Parole will be released from supervision and incarcerated inmates will be freed back into society. There will be over 12,000 felonies expunged and 8,000 felony free citizens of Kentucky.
