By Doug Newhouse, 28 July 2010
Distilleria Bottega has been awarded the Silver Medal and the prestigious 'Best in Class' title in England for its Ripasso Bottega Valpolicella Superiore red wine, during the 2010 International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC).
Distilleria Bottega - which is represented in more than 110 countries with its wines, grappas and liqueurs - said it is 'proud' that its wine achieved the best result amongst all of the Ripasso wines selected by IWSC this year.
The company said: "Operators in the world of wine consider it one of the leading prizes worldwide for its standards, prestige and the media attention given to the prizes awarded.
"Ripasso Bottega is wine typical of Valpolicella area (province of Verona) that is characterized by a bouquet of fresh fruit, cherries, pomegranate tree, red and black berries. It's round, dry, well-balanced and persistent. The 75cl bottle is enriched by an elegant label with the logo Casa Bottega.
"As part of the same competition Distilleria Bottega was awarded another Silver Medal for its Chianti Classico Docg Riserva Gallo Nero, distributed with the brands Collina del Sole."
