Guylian makes major people changes
By Doug Newhouse, 9 February 2010
Chocolaterie Guylian has appointed Keith Ma as its new China-South-East Asia Sales and Marketing Manager, covering both domestic and duty free customers in this territory. Based in Shanghai, he will report to Guylian's Export and Travel Retail Director Steven Candries.
At the same time, Eugène Van Herrewege is taking over the responsibility for Europe Duty Free, while continuing to handle the Middle East and Africa, as well as the Nordic region and the Indian sub-continent.
In addition, Philip Bogaert is taking on East and Central Europe, as well as Latin America. He will also will cover the Oceanic countries, taking these over from Steven Candries.
These changes follow the appointment last month of a new Managing Director in Raymond Bastiaens, who was previously President Sara Lee (Douwe Egberts Coffee) in Brussels, after holding earlier positions with Coca Cola and Henkel.
Bastiaens replaces Carl Krefting, who sold Guylian to Lotte Confectionery 18 months ago and who is now taking a sabbatical break.
Candries said he hoped the industry would now join him in congratulating all the aforementioned personnel in their new positions.
He said: "Personally I will work on the North Asian markets like Japan, Korea and Guam and Canada. I will continue heading the export team and the Guylian Asia Ltd office, but now with the managing support of Keith Ma."
