Due to the increase in traffic through the small village, it has been decided at today's council meeting that work will start in spring 2018 on a new dual carriageway.
This will replace Mickledale Lane. Houses close to the development area will be flattened and so will the local pub THE STANTON ARMS.
Police patrols will also begin to sit at each entrance to the village due to increased crime in the area including 2 murders, 3 armed robberies and 4 rapes in the last 18 months.
