Columbus police issues warrant for man wanted on murder charge

A warrant for first-degree murder was obtained for Wendell "Wize" Hamilton, 38, of Columbus Ohio, officers said.

Last Wednesday, at about 11:20 p.m., officers of the Columbus Police Department responded to 3613 Refugee Rd, to a reported shooting.

Officers discovered 38-year-old Erib Robinson of 638 Ocean ave Brooklyn NY, lying on the sidewalk, unresponsive, with multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers began CPR and Robinson was transported to Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn NY by rescue where he later died from his injuries.

Officers collected multiple shell casings at the scene and the Franklyn County Police Department provided assistance with a K9 tracking dog.

Police said an investigation revealed Hamilton as the suspect.

The Oh State Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the investigation and anyone with additional information is asked to call the Columbus Police Department.
