Erie county mayor has made his official announcement today to close the beaches. The beaches have long since caused a huge financial strain on the county. The constant need to maintain the beaches from erosion, as well as the constant need for clean up from residents has become to much. The mayor is confident that people will continue to make the trip to Erie anyway to see all the other many attractions. He hopes this will be a great first step in maintaining a balanced budget.
